Giving Back

I began a personal mission of giving back in 2010 after an incredible time of need for our family in 2009. Our first child, a sweet girl, changed our lives that year with her arrival at 25 weeks. Click here to read the birth story.

It was during this time that we saw the generosity of family, friends, churches, and complete strangers. It honestly became completely overwhelming when so many rallied for our cause during her struggle to survive. In my mind there was NO way I could ever repay everyone, their generosity had been priceless. I knew as soon as I was able, I would use the talent and platform that God had given me to give back to those in need.

As a result, in 2010, I launched my first Portrait Charity Event titled Angels Among Us. It was a great success raising $3000 for the local pregnancy care center, and ending with a beautiful gallery show. This year, I wanted to give back directly to the place that helped to keep our little girl alive and so I launched Rescued By Love, a Portrait Charity Event, to benefit the Bryan Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at GHS Children’s Hospital. Completely overwhelmed once again, that the community rallied to raise over $8000!

HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED: I’m happy to announce that I am continuing my work with GHS giving, by hosting another Rescued By Love Portrait Charity Event. The dates of Feb 20-25 have been confirmed and are now open for booking your child’s charity portrait session. The theme this year, angels. Outfits provided. Discounted creation fees and prints. WALL OF HOPE: I’m also pleased to announce that we are working on a NEW Wall of Hope for the NICU at GHS. We are teaming up with the NICU and past NICU patients to create something beautiful for the entrance walls. Stay tuned for more information.
