It's been a while since I made a baby post. Thought today might be fitting...they'll be another soon with some ultrasound pics, I hope! BTW, I'm feeling much better. At about 18 weeks I could function again half way normal. I'm feeling a little off this week, but I know I'm probably not resting as much as I should. It's crazy how it's just impossible to do what was the normal routine. So the decor dilemma...finally, I've settled on some baby bed fabric! The bedding I really, really wanted was $450, crazy considering I only spent $100 on the bed! My husband thought it was absurd too. Here it is...neutral, bright, fun stripes and circles, it's called Andy by Caden Lane. When I couldn't find more reasonably priced with a similar look, bedding, I thought it might be fun to make my own. However, I was shocked when I picked up a pattern from Walmart, shown below in blue, $16! To me it was a little pricey but I guess with all the different patterns you get it wasn't really all that bad.
So, below is a few swatches I've decided on. I love the bright colors and whimsical feel. These fabrics I found online at aboveallfabrics.com, thanks to my friend Sarah. I've been meaning to search for fabrics online for a couple weeks now, just haven't gotten around to it. She helped narrow my search, thank God, I may not have ever found a company so great!
Next on the to-do list is to pick up a few solids and ribbon, a task hopefully completed in a couple of Monday's when I go to a fabric store with my fellow prego friend, Alison. Then, of course, I must solicit the help of my Mother-in-law otherwise this could be a disaster, esp since I'm planning to modify the pattern just a little! I started cutting out patterns last night, and will hopefully finish that as well as can some squash before I leave for vacation very soon. There's just not enough hours in the day. I can't believe I only have 3 and a half more months until we have a baby...trying not to freak...and enjoying every minute! Can't wait to photograph our miracle in the nursery.
