Hiding His Word in Our Hearts

So awesome to see all my friends on facebook post cute pics of their kid's first day at school today, love! Sadie starts her little preschool next month....thinking about what picture we will take.... Gotta say. I love that kid.

Seriously though, what happened this morning deserves a blog discussion.

I couldn't be more excited....

Tears flowing, I'm "penecostal" (basically just a Jesus lover) so for those who would understand, I almost "shouted."

Here's the story: Sadie LOVES routine, so I try to do some of the same things in the morning. One of our "rituals" is to say a scripture together on the way to the sitter...I learned the importance of memorizing as a kid. Gotta love being a pastor's daughter.

We've been saying John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life."

I'll say the verse and she'll look at me and smile with her "say it again" grin.

Today I said it once.

We were driving, no music.

She leaned her head down and quietly whispered the words...

Each one leaving me hanging for the next...with tears, I said.

"Mommy is so proud of you."

Surely she thinks I'm crazy.

She's 3 and just said her first bible verse, with no solicitation.

Just simply spoke God's word that was hidden in her heart.

You might think she was reciting...I believe she's speaking God's truth over her life.

Go ahead demons, tremble.
